Hidden Gem From the road motel looks basic however what a pleasant surprise. Very clean and spacious room. Awesome shower, plenty of pressure. Lovely enclosed bbq and pool area. Quiet location and very central, within walking distance to shops. The owner couldn't help us enough. Thank you Rick for a very comfortable stay.

Great Stopover Stopped for one night at this quaint Motel behind the Hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and quiet location. Perfect nights rest if travelling through and great stop over for train Buffs as very historical area with Train museum etc. Room very clean and large shower. All you need. The Motel manager was super friendly and helpful. Adjacent to main street and super market, Eateries etc.

Hidden gem Tiny motel of just 7 units; outside is nothing special, but, once inside, a beautifully renovated room and bathroom comes to light. The room was large and very well maintained. We could honestly find no fault with this place. Rick, the host, is obviously proud of his motel and nothing is too much trouble for him to make sure you have everything. There is a microwave, toaster and jug in the room, but, in addition, he has provided a very well equipped 'camp kitchen' near the pool. This kitchen has an electric frypan, a microwave, a toaster oven, a barbeque, crockery & cutlery - you could cook a feast out there. The best place we stayed at in a month's travel - and some of the places were more than twice the price. Highly recommended - just make sure you book in advance.

Came for the accommodation, stayed for the friendliness and the hot shower. This is a basic country motel. It doesn't pretend to be anything else. But it was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable, facilities were all there and worked, it had a good wifi connection, the breakfast was well-priced and more than adequate. All of which you might find elsewhere. The standouts for us were the friendliness helpfulness of the proprietor (Rick), and the most gloriously hot and ample showers. It was cold both times we stayed, and this was a blessing. We couldn't recommend it more highly.

Peterborough Motel An older motel, but excellently maintained, large rooms, immaculately clean. Free camp kitchen and bbq was a great place to cook for ourselves. Rick was so friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. Convenient to Main St and hotels for dinner.

Very good value This is a 7 unit older motel that has been well maintained, the rooms are surprisingly large for a budget motel, there is a small pool. Grape vines are everywhere, help yourself to the grapes if its the right time of year. Everything is clean, the shower is hot, the bed is comfortable, air conditioning works, wifi is free. Peterborough itself is a bonus, it’s an old railway town with a heap of. history.

Great Motel Stopped off at Peterborough on way home. They only had a twin room left but the lady asked if we wanted to see it before booking. Such a nice gesture. The room was spacious and as my husband was coming down with the flu I was grateful for my own bed! It was so clean and extra pillows, blankets and a great little tea setup. Chain on door for security which makes me feel safe. All in all a great motel where we would be happy to stay again.

Located 253 km north of Adelaide, Peterborough is a railway town. Its greatest claim to fame is that it is one of only two places in Australia (the other is Gladstone) where three railway gauges met. Peterborough developed relatively late in the history of South Australia. Land was selected in the district and purchased from the government in 1875.
